As one mediation closes so another begins

Mediation ended recently in the ongoing dispute over pay between Lufthansa and the pilot’s union Vereinigung Cockpit.

No resolution has been published yet and according to Lufthansa contracts will be presented now that the process has ended but would say no more.

While ongoing the mediation prevented any strikes being called. The mediation was guided by Gunter Pleuger, ex-diplomat.

Meanwhile in North Carolina Swan Beach Corolla’s lawyers have sent the county a letter offering to commence mediation to try to end an ongoing argument over Swan Beach’s development rights.

Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell and Jernigan, who represent Swan Beach wrote making the offer at the end of January stating “ “this offer in a good faith effort to seek a global resolution of this matter that would also allow the plaintiffs [Swan Beach LLC] to develop their property without further litigation.”

There has already been a significant award made against the county which, unpaid, is currently running at over $8000 per day.

Both parties have stated a wish to resolve matters through mediation so whilst the first rule of mediation (confidentiality) may have been broken by the announcement that one party is seeking to mediation at least the second rule (voluntary engagement) is being followed.
